These materials will be assembled into an armored, weatherproof unit with internal and external metal plates for heat dissipation, PoE, and plug and play Ethernet. The first job is to drill the outer plate for the pole mount.
By using an external metal plate to hold the pole mount we also gain a nice big heat sink for the WRT54G. The plate is bolted over the pole mount itself and acts like a big spring to hold the inner and outer plates together. And by using metal screws we gain a nice heat dissipation channel from the inner to outer plates. The inner plate also doubles as the panel antenna reflector.
