TOPIC: flashing from Coova (White Russian) to Talisman Hotspot

I have a WRT54GL which I have flashed with Coova (White Russian). The "Firmware Upgrade" tab only accepts .trx firmware. I have tried to follow the TFTP instructions [url:1z33gai1]docs.sveasoft.com/SV-UpgradingFirmware.html[/url] using the linksys upgrade utility v1.255 but I get "Unable to get a response from the server" . How should I proceed?

Have you tried flashing using tftp?

Thanks for replying.
I tried the tftp tool from linksys set to 30 attempts. I also tried following the post which gave instructions on how to tftp using two command windows (one pinging the router) and then finally this morning I found a method posted by GeeWiz where you change the .bin file extension to .trx extension and use the "upgrade software" tab in Coova but non of these have worked so far.

Have you tried reverting back to the original firmware?

Surely the Coova site has a posting for doing just that?

Then you can start afresh.

I'm surprised tftp has not worked. Full reset before and after?

Thanks.By full reset do you mean holding down the reset button for 30 sec?
Yes I would have thought the Coova website or forum would have helped but they seem to be mostly interested in discussion of development of Coova not helping someone that found it didn't fill there need.

30s before switch off, 30s before switch on and for a continued 30s after switching on. All in one continuous event.

Seems to have worked.

Also after attempted flashing I tend to wait for the LEDs to settle down before doing anything. Upto 5 minutes.
Provided that is the system does not say the system has failed in some way or another.
